At CIGIDEN we seek to assist in the understanding of evacuation systems, through the research and analysis of the perceptions and behaviors of individuals and communities, as well as the methodologies that are currently improving evacuation processes at the national level. The goal is to develop the framework for an evacuation model and first response that integrates contributions from engineering and social sciences, institutions and the community. Likewise, this area investigates the forms of transmission of expert and cultural knowledge, and the willingness of citizens to collaborate in disaster situations, to improve official risk and communication mappings, and existing emergency response protocols.
Prioritized topics:
- Evacuation processes
- Effective post-disaster action
- Dissemination of post-disaster information
